Reindeer Chow

Another quick, 5 ingredient, no-bake holiday dessert coming at you! This one was so insanely good I had to package it up and give it away ASAP. The rest is stored safely until Christmas in the freezer.

Peanuts, Sweetened Coconut, M&Ms, Chex and White Chocolate. That's it! A few simple steps separate you between now and amazing and plentiful holiday goodie.

Reindeer Chow is the snackable version of chips, except that it's entirely more addicting. Be cautioned with this one! It's sweet and salty, crunchy, and the hint of coconut just takes it over the edge. Not to mention it's a no-bake dessert, meaning minimal pots and pans, simple and easy-to-find ingredients and it makes A TON!! I literally filled 11 cookie tins and still have so much leftover for Christmas.

It stores well in a gallon-sized ziplock baggie and it's currently sitting in the freezer ready to go for Christmas day. Win/win!

The ingredients are so easy and cost effective too. All of that holiday baking definitely comes at a cost. But Chex, Peanuts, White Chocolate, Sweetened Coconut, most of that stuff I actually already had sitting in my pantry.

So, how to actually put this together?

I used a double broiler, meaning I filled one pot with a little bit of water and another pot that was wider than the water pot on top of it. I got the top pot nice and hot then put the packages of white chocolate chips into the pan. This allows them to heat slowly without burning, which is so important!!

In a large pan, I mixed up the rest of the dry ingredients while the chocolate cooked. Yep, that simple. Just dump them in and mix them well.

Once the white chocolate was melted, I poured it in and using a rubber spatula, mixed it well. On a baking sheet I laid down wax paper to ensure nothing stuck, laid it down into a thick and even layer and let it cool.

From there, break it up and store in a plastic bag if totally cooled, or a large bowl for snackability all day long! See below on our my littlest Reindeer Chow snacker ;)
